About my Blog - Lost & Found

Being a geek dad, I'm amazed how our kids are learning to use the current technology. I can't imagine where they are going (as my grandfathers, who lived without electricity).

Supporting this idea, NPD Group released a study based on 3,212 US households with children between the ages of 4 to 14 who have used at least one electronic device. The report states:

Report: Kids have an average of 11 consumer electronics devices
  • TVs and computers are the top two devices used by kids
  • Kids have an average of 11 consumer electronics devices
  • A third of parents reported that they planned to buy a device specifically for their kids over the next year
  • 30% of kids in the survey had their own digital music player
  • 37% of kids had their own gaming handheld
  • 26% of kids had their own gaming console
  • Nearly 50% of kids with cell phones are using text messaging
  • Girls are more likely to use laptops and cell phones in general (I have to worry about that!)
  • 76 % of parents feel like they can keep up with their kids' activities through text messaging better than any other method.

The question is.... how am i keeping the pace? I'm toooooo old....
